It was much exciting than most of us expected and something beyond a surprise. 'An expression of mutual concern and happiness over the well being of alma-matter' as it appeared for many of us. The first ever get-together of Greater Toronto area based alumni and friends of Rajagiri institutions indicated a firm resolve to build up a vibrant network which could respond to the several kinds of challenges developing a supportive culture within and joining hands with the like minded to expand the fraternity including those others who could not make themselves present. Thanks to Fr.Prasant for being catalytic for making this work. Most of us were astonished to hear the new developments in the past few years and the changing approaches. The group was delighted hear about the disaster management efforts initiated by the college following the tsunami devastation.

This get -together which was hosted by Thomas Antony at his New Market residence was well attended with the presence of Sajan Malayil, Rexon Ray, Joby Joseph, Pinky Enasu and Jison, Prasad and Bindu with their two kids, Saji Joseph and Jolly with Children and Jose Varghese. Suja- batchmate of Pinky who was longing to greet folks, desperately telephoned to convey her inability to make it due to a last minute hassle. So also Ajimol,Veena Louis, Fr.Manadan, Sojan from Detroit, Martin C.Mathews- Cambridge and Jomy George.
Thanks to Mrs.Thomas and Mrs.Saji for treating us with a wonderful dinner in the wake of Onam. Pinky entertained the group with her pleasant sweet voice. Thanks to Pinky Jison and Mrs.Jolly for the best out of them.
Expect more updates with pictures... and a summary of our resolve will be added soon.

Welcome Fr.Prasant to Toronto

The alumni and friends of Rajagiri living in Greater Toronto are really excited to welcome Fr.Prasant CMI to Toronto, and the first ever gathering in this part of North America. This must be a pleasant experience for Fr.Prasant as well as he could exchange the relatively newer experiences in the academic level and in the social circle at both the places. All of us hope this fraternity could grow further and be supportive among us and to the Rajagiri institutions on a broader perspective.

We welcome the opinion of those who cannot make it today especially Fr.Davis Manadan, Ajimol et al to share views, ideas and comments and could also leave their contact info.

It's THIRU ONAM Today

What's exciting about ONAM ?
We might think with a difference....However
for a typical Keralite Malayalee,
of course the heavy sumptuous meal on a plantain leaf
must be the top ranking priority....

The constructive time line for making
a floral carpet may be the next on the agenda .....

New clothing is definitely an accompanied priority....
getting clad in a glittering Ona Pudava'?

If we walk along our 'smaller towns'
the priority could still be different !...
(This guy is acting!)

Some people in cities like Trivandrum and Cochin
think in terms of their affluence!

A Ferrari Tourist taxi cab stationed in front of Muscat Hotel...

You can add more.... Post comments

Now..... What is exciting for us?
Is it the get-together this weekend?

Don't forget to bring your cameras....

Jose

Thiru Onam for Malayalees.....

At some point of time, we walked through the terrains of Rajagiri, learned new people skills or expanded our horizons.....some of us traveled across the seas to make our lives vibrant.... ourselves galvanized probably with a philosophy and commitment to serve and excel....also to do whatever we can to make lives better for fellow human beings as well.... It was just an introspection....
In this process have we missed anything ?
For every Keralite Malayalees ONAM is an occasion to introspect....
A time when there was more social justice...when everybody could equally utilize resources and make life good for each other...For many, ONAM is still a nostalgia and it will continue so.
Many of us live here in Canada, being part of the cultural diversity, how do we look at it?

....At this ONAM is there anything that is striking for us?
As a community is there anything relevant for us while we talk about ONAM
or being a Keralite?

I thought it is a good idea to provide some leads as we plan a get-together of the alumni and friends of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences - The Rajagiri School of Management.
This is not a part of a mission statement or a baseline for developing a future perspective....nothing of the kind of a planned introduction...Just a simple stream of thoughts...

You can share yours....Make it fun....enjoyable and sustainable.
HEARTY ONAM WISHES to all our friends...
